Gbade Alabi - Executive Chairman/Chief Executive Officer

Gbade Alabi is an astute and accomplished businessman, whose experience touches on almost every aspect of modern day business, including IT processes, Business Development, Marketing, Accounting and Business Administration.

A graduate of the University of Ibadan and subsequently the Harvard Business School, Gbade doubles as Executive Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of CBC emea group of companies. He is today a well-known player in the Nigerian, British and American IT business circles and a household name among global IT solution providers like IBM, SUN,NETAPP, DELL, EMC and MICROSOFT.

After secondary school, Gbade worked briefly as a clerk at the Central Bank of Nigeria, Tinubu Lagos.  In 1968, Gbade quit his job upon passing the common entrance examination to University of Ibadan.   He graduated in 1972 with a second-class honors degree in Physics.

After University, Gbade started his professional career filling various roles.  He worked as a secondary school physics and math teacher at Ansar-ru deen College Isolo.  While working as a teacher, he took a postgraduate computer science course at the University of Lagos.  He then went on to work for the Nigerian Electric Power Authority, Nigerian Custom and Excise Commission, the National Census Board, and later became the head of the computer operations at the Royal Exchange Assurance of Nigeria (REAN)

Entrepreneurship was a burgeoning desire all through his career at different organisations, and  his first foray was the establishment of a computer services company named Betam Computer Services Ltd.  The company did not take off as hoped, but unperturbed by the failure, Gbade went on to establish City Business Computers Ltd.  City Business Computers (CBC) started out as a small outfit producing custom programs and selling personal computers to organisations, in Nigeria and  Africa.  Gbade completed the Owner President Managers Program at Harvard Business School.  Lessons learned from Harvard equipped Gbade with knowledge with which he re-branded City Business Computers as CBC emea (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and formed six subsidiaries to focus on providing services to the growing Nigerian economy and beyond.  Under the guidance and leadership of Gbade, CBC is one of the leading brands in the information technology space in Nigeria. The CBC Group is today a giant technology corporation with business focus on ICT, energy, security and real estate.

He has received several honours from prestigious national and international organisations, business and IT certifications from various global IT solution providers.

He is a professional member of Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) and Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN).

He is married to Mrs. Foluso Gbade-Alabi (Nee Fagbohun), and blessed with seven children and four grandchildren.
