Officials of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) led by Architect Viviane Ogbonna have visited Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, to discuss the way forward on the completion of the iconic building donated by the CBN which work has stalled for some time now.
Architect Ogbonna, having restated the CBN leadership’s commitment to the successful completion of the project, said that whatever her team and the University management agreed on would be reported back to the CBN for prompt action.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede, expressed the appreciation of the University authorities to the CBN for considering the University for the intervention project, stressing the importance of the project to the University, especially its early completion.
Ogunbodede, who asserted that the University cannot afford any contributions the project due to paucity of fund, urged the CBN to complete the project in time. He assured the contractors on the project that the University administration is ever ready to support the CBN by providing accommodation and security.
