The African Institute for Science Policy and Innovation was set up to conduct research on how to harness science and technology for the economic development, serve as a “think tank” for institutions engaged in the governance of the National Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) System, and develop human capabilities in Technology Management. With regard to achieving these objectives, one of the strategies of the Institute is to bring together at a conference from time to time, academics, business professionals, policy influencers and other stakeholders to share knowledge and deliberate on how to address global emerging issues on development.
This Conference is being held under the theme “Science Technology and Innovation for Sustainable Development”. Research in various sub-themes such as Industrial Technology; Information and Communications Technology; Energy sustainability, policy, management and technologies; Technological Entrepreneurship; Project Management; and Foreign Direct Investment among many others have been accepted to be presented at various plenary sessions.
The Chief Host for the occasion is the Vice-Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede, while the Director of the Institute Professor Timothy Oyebisi and Dean of Faculty of Technology, Professor Adesola Aderoumnu are the co-hosts. The Special Guest of Honour is Engineer (Dr) Adetunji Obawole, Technical Manager, ExxonMobil Capital Projects in Nigeria.
