The International Association of Language Educators (IALE), a new global body of eminent professors and academics with specialisation in language education and languages related disciplines, has been formally inaugurated, and a Professor in the University’s Faculty of Education, Yetunde Ajibade, has been emerged the pioneer International President of the association.

The inauguration ceremony which saw the election officers to pilot the affairs of the association was hosted in OAU to honour the convener and brain behind the association, Yetunde Ajibade, who was unanimously chosen to lead other members. Professor Makinde of the Lagos State University (LASU), Lagos was elected as the International Vice-President, with other officers from various Universities.

The association was inaugurated to fill a big vacuum which has hitherto affected development across societies globally. “Any attempt made in societies without recourse to language pedagogy is an exercise in futility. This is one main reason the problem of language teaching and learning activities in educational institutions right from pre-primary to tertiary institutions remain intractable”, Ajibade said.
