How do I obtain my Certificate?

In order to obtain your certificate after graduation, you are required to report in person at the Examinations and Records Division of the University with all the required documents.

What are the requirements to obtain my certificate?

Graduated candidates are required to submit the under-listed documents:

  1. Original Student’s Identity Card/Letter of Introduction from HOD.
  2. Library Clearance.
  3. Original copy of ‘To Whom It May Concern’/Statement of Result/Notification of Result/Attestation of Degree.

To obtain academic transcript, candidates are required to submit their application(s) online at www.etx-ng.com/oau. Payment for the academic transcript is to be made online and on no account should applicants pay cash to any staff of the University for academic transcript

When can I obtain my certificate after the completion of my academic programme?

Certificates for programmes are normally issued to graduated candidates after the approval of Results by the University Senate and the conferment of the degree at the Convocation programme which is usually held in December. Graduated candidates are, however, entitled to obtain ‘Statement of Result’ or ‘Notification of Results’ as a temporary evidence of completion of programme before the Convocation programme.

Can I get a replacement for my lost Certificate?

The extant regulation of the University prohibits the re-issuance of lost certificate. Thus, a certificate is issued only once and for all. However, a candidate with a genuine case may be issued an attestation letter in lieu of the lost certificate.

Can I obtain my Certificate by Proxy?

Yes. Candidates are allowed to obtain their certificate by Proxy only if they are genuinely unable to report in person. Such candidates are required to write a ‘letter of authorisation’ to the Registrar, permitting the University to release their certificate to their Proxy. The Proxy would be required to submit the documents listed in item 2 above in addition to the authorisation letter.

Can the University post my Certificate to me?

No. The University does not post certificates to candidates under any circumstance.

Can I laminate my certificate?

Candidates are strongly advised to desist from laminating their original certificate in order to minimise the risk of rejection by international bodies/institutions. Lamination makes verification of original certificate difficult.

Why is the Verification of my Certificate/Academic Transcript being delayed?

Verification of certificate/academic transcript could be delayed if the required payment was not made by the candidate concerned or the organisation requesting verification. The current fee for verification of academic credential is ₦2,500.00, payable into the University Remita account.

The cost of academic transcript depends on the destination address where the transcript would be forwarded. This amount is usually generated at the registration website: www.etx-ng.com/oau.

How Do I obtain Proficiency of English Letter

Candidates requesting for Proficiency of English letter are required to contact the Examinations and Records Division. They would be required to pay a sum of ₦1,500.00 only into the University Remita account.
