Obafemi Awolowo University Don Nominated As An International Participant To Advance Art Historical Research

Dr Eyitayo Ijisakin of the Department of Fine and Applied Arts, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, is among the twelve new participants selected by the College Art Association (CAA) to attend its forthcoming annual conference holding at Chicago, USA in 2024. The international participants were selected through a rigorous exercise by a jury of CAA from a highly competitive group of applicants.

The 12 participants will be speaking to advance art historical research, expand international networks and the exchange of ideas in the field of visual arts. Dr Ijisakin who is a Fellow of the American Council of Learned Society, New York, will be addressing issues on art-based/visual activism, a non-violent cultural approach that employs persuasions to question the status-quo and prompt people’s imagination towards a more desirable society. The CAA-Getty Program holds in February 2024, and it is generously funded by the Getty Foundation.
