OAU Holds 431st Inaugural Lecture on Endocrine Disruptors and Environmental Safety

Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, will hold its 431st Inaugural Lecture on Tuesday, 29 September 2026, at the Oduduwa Hall, OAU, Ile-Ife.

The lecture, titled “Endocrine Disruptors Everywhere: How Safe Is Our Environment?”, will be delivered by Professor Aderemi Okunola Ogunfowokan, Professor of Analytical and Environmental Chemistry.


The lecture will focus attention on endocrine-disrupting chemicals and their presence in the environment. It is expected to provide insights into their sources, possible environmental implications, and the growing importance of monitoring substances that may interfere with hormonal systems.


Professor Ogunfowokan, BSc, MSc, PhD, FCSN, is a scholar in Analytical and Environmental Chemistry whose academic work has contributed to research and knowledge in environmental monitoring and chemical analysis.


The event will be held under the distinguished chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, Professor Adebayo Simeon Bamire.
