Miss Adedayo Oreoluwa Adewole from the Department of Geography at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, has emerged as the recipient of the esteemed Prof. Lekan Oyebande Best Ph.D. Thesis in Hydrology and Water Resources Award for the year 2023. This distinguished accolade, sponsored by the Nigerian Association of Hydrological Sciences (http://nahs.org.ng/), was presented in recognition of her outstanding doctoral thesis titled “Assessment of Soil Moisture Content and its Relationship with Rainfall in Opa River Catchment, Ile-Ife, Osun State.”

The Emeritus Prof. Lekan Oyebande Best Ph.D. Thesis in Hydrology and Water Resources in Nigeria Award is an initiative by the Nigerian Association of Hydrological Sciences (NAHS), designed to foster and champion the development of high-level expertise in Hydrology and Water Resources across the nation.

The presentation of this prestigious award took place at the opening ceremony of the 13th NAHS Conference themed “Water, Environment, and Society.” The event transpired on Wednesday, the 1st of November 2023, at the Faculty of Social Sciences Lecture Theatre, University of Lagos.
