Christmas: Bamire Calls for Renewal of Purpose, Reaffirms Commitment to Excellence
The Vice-Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Professor Adebayo Simeon Bamire, has called on members of the University community and its wider stakeholders to use the Christmas season as a moment for reflection, renewal, and recommitment to shared values of service, integrity, and excellence.
In his Christmas message to staff, students, alumni, friends, and supporters of the University, Professor Bamire described the season as a reminder that enduring institutions are built on sacrifice, collective effort, and a clear sense of purpose.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, the University’s steady progress over the past year is a direct result of the dedication, resilience, and loyalty of its people, noting that Obafemi Awolowo University has continued to stand firm on its founding ideals despite prevailing challenges in the higher education landscape.
“Christmas calls us to pause, to appreciate the strength of our shared mission, and to renew our commitment to the values that define us as a great University,” he stated.
Professor Bamire expressed deep appreciation to members of staff for their service, students for their perseverance and discipline, alumni for their enduring connection to the University, and friends and supporters for their consistent goodwill and support.
He further assured stakeholders of the University Management’s continued resolve to consolidate gains recorded so far and to position the institution for greater relevance, impact, and global competitiveness in the coming year.
The Vice-Chancellor wished the entire University community a peaceful and joyful Christmas celebration and expressed optimism that the New Year would usher in fresh opportunities for growth, innovation, and collective progress.
