The Centre for Gender and Social Policy Studies, Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, Nigeria organized a four-day International Conference with the theme: “Gender Equality and Pandemics: Rethinking National, Regional and International Growth and Development Pathways.” The conference was held at the African Centre of Excellence in ICT-Driven Knowledge Park, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria from the 17th to the 20th of May 2022 and declared open by Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede, the Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria.

The aim of the conference was to identify new pathways to promote and ensure gender equality while grappling with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The conference featured over 50 oral abstract presentations, and 5 roundtable and symposium sessions. Conference attendance was both virtual and in-person.
