The 15th Annual Faculty Conference of the Faculty of Clinical Sciences, Obafemi Awolowo University was hosted under the theme “POVERTY AND HEALTH: BREAKING THE NEXUS.” The event took place on November 30, 2023, at the Clinical Skills Auditorium, Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile-Ife.

This gathering, which saw the participation of academicians, medical practitioners, and students, focused on addressing issues related to poverty and health and exploring potential solutions.

In his address, the Dean of the Faculty highlighted the impressive legacy established by the Faculty in teaching, research, and grantsmanship. He expressed gratitude to those who have played a role in contributing to the ongoing development of this legacy.

The 22 scientific papers presented at the conference offered valuable insights and solutions to societal issues related to health.

In attendance were Prof. A.S. Bamire who is the Vice-Chancellor of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Senator Muhammed Ali Ndume who was the Special Guest of Honour, Prof. Tuouo Okorosobo who was the Keynote Speaker and Prof. J.A. Okeniyi who is the Chief Medical Director of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex. Also in attendance were Prof. O.A. Sowande the Dean Faculty of Clinical Sciences, and Prof. B.A. Kolawole who is the Provost of the College of Health Sciences among other dignitaries present.
