The Department of Mathematics at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile Ife, inaugurated the International Conference and Advanced Workshop on Modelling and Simulation of Complex Systems on Monday, May 27th, 2024. The event was held at the Afrigist Conference Hall within the university and is set to run until Friday, May 31st, 2024.

Prof. Samuel Okoya, the host of the event, welcomed guests and participants who had arrived from various parts of the world. In his opening speech, Prof. Okoya emphasized the importance of modelling and simulation as essential tools for researchers to address real-life problems through interdisciplinary collaborations.

Prof. Mrs. Adenike Kuku, Chairperson of the occasion and Vice-Chancellor of Kings University, explained that the conference aims to analyze complex systems for optimal performance, foster collaboration among scientists, and provide participants with opportunities to engage in technical sessions and hands-on training workshops.

The Vice-Chancellor of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Prof. A.S. Bamire, highlighted in his speech that the workshops and conference offer a secure platform for experts and delegates to share their experiences, network, and pave the way for transformative breakthroughs.

The opening event was attended by a host of distinguished guests and delegates, including: Prof. (Mrs) Adenike, The Chairperson & The Vice – Chancellor, Kings University,  Prof. Daramola, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Abogan, the University Bursar, Professor Promise Mebine,  Prof. Lazarus African Ojigi; Prof. A.
