The Department of Chemical Engineering, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, is set to mark 55 years of excellence in teaching, research and innovation. To commemorate this landmark, a grand celebration will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the Design Studio Auditorium, African Centre of Excellence, OAU.

The event will feature a book launch and the unveiling of a N5 billion endowment fund geared towards advancing the department’s legacy of academic distinction and industry relevance.

Notable dignitaries expected include Professor Anthony Adegbulugbe, Chairman of the event and CEO of Green Energy International; His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II, as Royal Father of the Day; and Professor Banji Oyelaran-Oyeyinka, Senior Special Adviser to the President of the African Development Bank, who will deliver the keynote address.
