OAU Inducts New Generation of Medical Doctors

In an atmosphere brimming with academic prestige and professional promise, the College of Health Sciences, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, held a grand professional induction ceremony for the graduating class of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB).
The historic Oduduwa Hall played host to the distinguished event, marking the official transition of these young doctors from academia to professional medical practice.
The air crackled with anticipation as the procession of University officials, faculty members, and inductees made their way into the hall. In attendance were eminent personalities from walks of life but in particular, the medical world, the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), and proud parents who had come to witness the crowning moment of their children’s years of arduous study and sacrifice.
In his welcome address, Professor Tope Kolawole, the Provost of the College of Health Sciences, emphasized the significance of this milestone for the inductees and the institution. He commended the perseverance and academic excellence of the inductees, likening their transformative journey to the refining of gold through fire.
Professor Kolawole acknowledged the critical role of faculty and staff in shaping this new generation of medical professionals, despite numerous challenges, and expressed gratitude to the university leadership under the Vice-Chancellor Professor Adebayo Simeon Bamire for their unwavering support.
