The Management, Staff and Students of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, wish to heartily congratulate Prof. Adesegun Olayiwola Fatusi and Prof. Morenike Oluwatoyin Ukpong, both of the College of Health Sciences, on their election as Fellows of the Nigeria Academy of Science.

 The Nigerian Academy of Science (NAS) is the foremost independent scientific body in Nigeria. The Annual General Meeting of the Body of Fellows was held in Abuja on the 26th of January 2023. Only ten of the candidates who were nominated for the Fellowship of the Academy of Science were successful. A very competitive election indeed.  It is a significant achievement that two of the 10 successful Fellows were from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. Both Fellows are also Alumni of the University.

 These two join existing OAU Ile-Ife Fellows of the Academy.
