Prof. Anthony Olusegun Adebulugbe, in collaboration with a group of colleagues, laid the cornerstone of the International Centre of Excellence for Research, Innovation, and Development Building at Obafemi Awolowo University on February 21st, 2024.

As the first recipient of the OAU award for Research and Academic Excellence, Prof. Adebulugbe recognized the importance of constructing a magnificent facility to enhance and advance research endeavors within the university community.

During the ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor expressed heartfelt appreciation to Prof. Adebulugbe, his family, and friends for their pivotal role in making this project a reality, while also encouraging the cultivation of innovative ideas to propel the university’s progress.

Addressing the audience, Prof. Adebulugbe conveyed his gratitude to the university for including his family and friends in the rich history of his alma mater, Great Ife.

In a brief speech, Prof. Adebayo emphasized the significance of giving in ways that positively impact lives, highlighting the collective effort of Prof. Adegbulugbe’s family and friends as an inspiring example for leaving a lasting legacy.

Notable dignitaries in attendance included Prof. A.S. Bamire, the Vice-Chancellor, along with other university officials, faculty members, and esteemed guests.
