We are delighted to share that Professor Oladapo Afolabi, CFR has been named the recipient of the 2026 Excellence Award in Research Practice at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU).

An outstanding Professor of Chemistry at OAU, Prof. Afolabi built a distinguished academic career grounded in rigorous research, intellectual leadership, and the advancement of scientific knowledge. He further demonstrated the power of research-informed leadership in public service, serving as Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, where he championed reform, institutional strengthening, and national development. His career exemplifies the seamless integration of academic excellence and impactful public service.
